Where are we? This space could be anything: a desert, an ice floe, an abandoned hut way up high in the mountains or tectonic plates beneath our feet. Three performers inhabit this space. They are alone together, in an intimate setting of separation. As they move on, the space folds and unfolds, bends and curves, elongates and telescopes time. The ground is as liquid as our existence is ungrounded. This choreographic installation is the first staging of a project by Julia Schwarzbach investigating ideas of togetherness.
Julia Schwarzbach is a Salzburg-based performer and choreographer. She has worked with renowned artists such as Sasha Waltz, Tania Bruguera, Ivana Müller, a.o. and since 2009 produces her own pieces. Investigating togetherness she creates intimate works exploring notions of co-existence and of being-with, between performers, audience, space, time and materials. Since 2011 she is a member of tanz_house. Her work is supported by SZENE Salzburg within the frame of apap – Performing Europe 2020, co-funded by the Creative Europe Program of the European Union.
