Hubert Lepka (PhD. iur., born 1958), director and choreographer of his network lawine torrèn, lives and works with his familiy on a farm near salzburg. After studying law and music (opera) he has been working in the field of contemporary dance since 1989. He founded the performance collective lawine torrèn in 1992 as an open network of dancers, actors, architects, authors, musicians and videographers. He is creating drama that emerges on location rather than in illusionary set design. lawine torrèn is known for performances and productions staged in very large and real spaces like alpine landscapes, airports, cities, forrests and rivers, where humans and machines equaliy become part of a narrative storybord at the interface of film and theatre. The projects are often located on the interface of art, economy, tourism, architecture and science, to explore and develope new ways of communications.
