1 month study intensive

with Martin Kilvady

September 21st – October 15th, 2020 MO–FRI / 9am–1pm

Full immersion into particular physical Craft, fuelled by love for dancing, soaked in stage experience and inspired by everyday need of feeling good.

What he is proposing is a 1 month study process of his Dance Craft. You will experience an unique amalgam of specific, personal body work methods and dancing. Martin believes that the study process will radically enlarge your movement vocabulary and teach you how to use the body language more eloquently.

For the past 25 years Martin has been present in the field of professional contemporary dance. He enjoyed studying, embracing the intricacies of creative processes, he spent countless hours with people he likes, globetrotting and presenting his work.

All these experiences contributed towards the crystallisation of Martins Dancing, ‘Martins Dance Style’.

what remains

with Julia Schwarzbach & team

October 9th, 2020 5–8pm • ARGE tanz_house Studio • open to everyone!

In this workshop we will stand on the same ground and share our movement practice with you. We will shake and bounce to let go and open ourselves towards inner and outer spaces. We will move very slowly too, trying to detect and grasp changes within us. We will allow ourselves to get hit by invisible forces and transform them into creative energy. We will move, sweat, write, talk and dream. We will be together in the space, in whatever way possible, entering states of connection we might wish and hope for.

The workshop is open to everyone. It is run by the artistic team around choreographer Julia Schwarzbach and connects to ideas of the performance ‘what remains’ in ARGEkultur on October 11th, 2020.

Julia Schwarzbach is a Salzburg-based performer and choreographer. She has worked with renowned artists such as Sasha Waltz, Tania Bruguera, Ivana Müller, a.o. and produces her own work since 2009. Investigating “togetherness” she creates intimate works exploring notions of co-existence and of being-with. From 2016–2020 her work is supported by SZENE Salzburg within the frame of “apap – Performing Europe 2020, co-funded by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union.“

bending reality

with Florencia Demestri and Samuel Lefeuvre

October 15–17, 2020 from 2 – 5.30pm • ARGE KuP & ARGE tanz_house Studio • all levels

Florencia Demestri and Samuel Lefeuvre propose to playfully explore choreographic tools based on imagination and fantasy. How does an image or a sensation can influence our dancing? Which technical tools can help us to transform ourselves into the projected image? They’ll tackle the notion of physical states, dear to their creation process. With the partici- pants, they’ll explore some states used in the choreographic work of the company, and then look for others, more personal, so that each of us can use his/her imagination to develop an original and creative way of dancing.

After dancing for choreographers such as Alain Platel and David Zambrano, and being part of different collectives (Peeping Tom, groupe ENTORSE) Florencia Demestri and Samuel Lefeuvre now collaborate together to create hybrid choreographic works with a focus on bending the audience’s perception of reality. Through the use of disruptive narrative and intense, twisted physicality, they invite the spectator to give in to a multiple and intuitive interpretation of the occuring events, favouring sensations over meaning.
